In 2002 word was out that MCD is back... And there was the underground smash hit «love thing / biters» to prove it. His album was to follow in early 2003, but the label that should have brought it out, closed down just then.
MCD is in the rap game since 1985, going by the names of MCD, 2xDef and Silent Eclipse. He is a vocalist and producer on the same level as the best known UK Hip Hop and Garage or Grime artists out there; yet unfortunate circumstances made sure that only a handful of his tunes actually got released, leaving him mostly unknown outside the UK. The people that know MCD and hold him in highest regard, are among others artists like Rodney P, DJ Skitz, Roots Manuva, Fallacy, Skinnyman... matter of fact, just about every big name on the scene highly rates D's talent.

In 2006 the UK scene is big, maybe bigger than it's ever been, - yet still nowhere near the commercial might of the US Hip Hop industry. It's an old story, but to this day, the major labels in this industry still have very little faith in UK talent and the artists themselves have become disillusioned from past experience. This leaves room for independent labels to bring out big acts like MCD making big tunes like OKAY!
