Malummí
Malummí’s music casts a spell, fierce and blissful all at once. The Basel-based trio first emerged with Blood (2021), an intimate debut blending indie, electronica, and folk with raw emotion and vulnerability.
In November 2023, they released The Universe Is Black (Irascible Records), a bold dive into grunge-tinged alternative rock and warm indie folk. The album was named Album of the Week on Swiss National Radio SRF3, featured on KEXP’s Sound & Vision podcast, and won Album of the Year from IndieSuisse. Fronted by singer and songwriter Larissa Rapold — whose voice is as expressive as it is distinctive — and backed by Giovanni Vicari (guitar) and Lucas Zibulski (drums), the band creates an immersive sonic world reminiscent of Big Thief, PJ Harvey, and Julia Jacklin.
Malummí’s lyrics delve deep, challenging societal norms and power structures in a patriarchal, white-dominated world. Their songs explore the complexities of relationships — with the self, with others, and with society.
Having shared stages with Teezo Touchdown, Mayberg, Uche Yara, Soft Loft, and Anna Erhard, and performed at Luzern Live, Stars In Town, and M4Music, between others, Malummí are now gearing up to release their third album, Damaged By Their Silence (March 2026).
