Melina Nora

Melina Nora, the incandescent young musician and singer-songwriter, is taking Switzerland by storm. Hailing from the small villages, she ventured into the urban realms of Zurich, where she found her place as an artist. Leaving home was a departure, and yet, Melina Nora doesn’t deny her roots — her Valaisian heritage hums with the beat of her heart. Therefore, her musical journey as a Zurich-based artist leads her back to the origins of her craft. Together with musician Nicolas Ruedin, Melina Nora wrote and produced her first EP „Landtapu“ in Zurich, in the language of her heart, „Wallisteritsch”

In her songs, Melina Nora gently speaks of noise, consoles in times of sadness, and calmly narrates the hectic pace of life. „My music emerged from the need to create something raw and authentic”, says the twentysomething artist, whose influences like Maro, José Gonzales, and Joni Mitchell are clearly audible. With just the demo of her soon-to-be-released first single „Was Hokksch“, Nora made waves across the country. National radio stations secured the song for their daytime rotations even before its release. Festivals like the Winterthurer Musikfestwochen booked the artist for their lineup even before she had officially released any record.

A promising debut for Melina Nora, whose first EP will be released in the spring of 2025 by Mouthwatering Records. Her band will then go on tour. Thus, once again, the artist finds herself in a phase of new beginnings - on the journey, always connected with where she came from through her work. Swiss German Indie-Popmusic for all who dream, seek, and long for.
