To Athena

Chamber pop, melancholy, lyrics that reflect directly, that hurt. Music that dances between worlds. To Athena allows introspective and fragile gems in Swiss German to exist alongside sparkling and cinematic pop in English on one and the same stage. Greatness is often found in the small, in the details. In the lyrics that reach out into the dark, but always allow the light in. Fragility, strength and the tones in between.

You might think that To Athena grew up as a child of Kate Bush and Mani Matter and would have sung the second voice to Queen songs on every vacation trip with Agnes Obel, Bon Iver and David Bowie in the back seat. And that's not so far-fetched: growing up in a family of violin makers, she spent her childhood singing along to the hits of the 80s that her father, a former DJ, played.

With To Athena, Tiffany Athena Limacher creates a creative outlet for her boundless ideas, diving into underwater worlds between chamber/indie and cinematic pop, juggling English and Swiss German and creating her very own cosmos through self-illustrated covers, music videos and live performances.

In 2020, she released her debut album "Aquatic Ballet", which found an international audience. Not least thanks to the dialect song "Angscht".

In her second album "The Movie", which was released in October 2023, she ventures even deeper into her inner self in search of reasons and abysses, which she distils in both English and Swiss-German lyrics.

In 2023, To Athena won the Swiss Music Award in the "Artist Award" category.

She performs live in a quartet with keyboard, drums and cello or with her 9-piece orchestra.
