"They Say They Say“ is a song about feeling the weight of others' expectations and finding humor and frustration in the constant comparisons we face. With lines like “I could be dead by now, if I hadn’t made all the right mistakes” and “I could be a number one if I only knew how to have some fun,” Elio Ricca delivers a critique of modern society's obsession with success and perfection—questions we've all asked ourselves at some point.
Musically, it’s a mix of glycerine-soaked guitars, 80s-inspired synthwave, and pulsating pop beats. One catchy guitar riff, raw, honest vocals, and some floaty synths. It’s as simple as that. Elio Ricca’s distinctive new sound feels both fresh and nostalgic, drawing listeners in with its mix of familiarity and originality.
