‘Volatility’ is at the heart of Palinstar's new single ‘Complicated’. The first part of the song deals with a relationship where one person is labeled as complicated without any self-examination. The second part brings in the element of time: change happens before it is noticed, driven by repetition. Echoing the concept of Panta Rei: one cannot step into the same river twice. Here, volatility, typically seen as fluctuating or fleeting, stands symbolically for personal transformation. This vibe is immediately felt by the listener, further emphasized by the guest performances of Alex Kranabetter (Voodoo Jürgens) on trumpet and Rea Dubach (Omni Selassi) on backing vocals. Noah Georgeson’s mixing (Cate Le Bon, Alice Phoebe Lou, Andy Shauf) adds a delightfully airy quality that complements the song's exploration of time.
