Ay Wing — Poison Ivy
Ay Wing’s Poison Ivy EP (out February 7, 2025), is a mesmerizing blend of alternative RnB, indie, and soul and influences. Across five tracks, the EP explores themes of identity, vulnerability, connection and transformation. Ay Wing’s versatile voice, equal parts raw and hypnotic, delivers hooky, catchy melodies infused with emotional depth.
From the upbeat, electrifying rhythms of Poison Ivy and Spacewalker to exposed, introspective ballads like Healing and Limerence State, each track vividly imagines the many sides of grief and renewal. Meanwhile, Sugar Rush stands out with its sultry vibe, defined by a slow-burn rhythm, bittersweet strings, and a soulful melody that crescendos in the infectious hook, “Sugar if you like me, you know what excites me.”
The EP’s dreamy yet gritty sound is rounded out by Ay Wing’s gripping lyricism and visceral vocals, creating a listening experience that is both deeply personal and universally resonant, inviting further immersion with each listen.
The singles Sugar Rush and Spacewalker have been in rotation on the renowned US based radio station KEXP, in addition to appearing on SRF3, RTR, and Amazing Radio UK. The single Healing was nominated at the Listen To Berlin Awards in the Best Artist category.
