Black Sea Dahu — One Day Will Be All I Have

“One Day Will Be All I Have” is Black Sea Dahu’s new single: a deeply moving tribute from Janine to her father, who passed away unexpectedly three years ago. The track marks the beginning of the band’s next chapter and sets the tone for their upcoming album Everything, due February 20, 2026.

With a blend of dobro, electric guitar, drums, organ, upright bass and a dazzling brass section, it builds into a powerful, heart-wrenching crescendo.

This raw and vulnerable song opens a window into the emotional weight of losing someone you love, how it changes everything in its wake, the irreversible shift it brings, and how the world, in its silence, continues to turn. Janine’s voice is the voice of anyone who has experienced a loss that feels impossible to understand.

“The way your brain just completely fails to compute the idea that someone’s gone is unfathomable. I keep coming back to this: it just doesn’t make sense. It makes no sense. Gone? Gone where? Where is he? What do you mean? What do you mean? After my father died, many things went quiet, including my voice. People say it gets easier, but I’m not sure that applies to me. The dust is settling, the world keeps turning, life goes on—and I am completely changed.” Janine

Janine’s words trace the silhouette of someone who’s gone and the life we try to find in their absence. The silence that follows loss is deafening, yet paradoxically, it forces you to move forward — to move with the grief, to allow it to guide you. In the end, none of us know how much time we really have here.

On "One Day Will Be All I Have," Janine doesn’t just sing about loss—she sings from within it. This song is about what’s left behind when someone leaves, the strength needed to walk through the deepest of sorrows, and the journey to find meaning in the aftermath. It’s a tribute to Janine’s father and a poignant reminder that in times of grief, what remains is the courage to keep going
