Swiss-based power duo IKAN HYU have released ‘× POW ! ×’, the first single of their upcoming debut album. ’× POW ! ×’ – picture of a woman – addresses the disconnection between other people’s expectations and one’s own reality. With lyrics like “This picture of a woman ain’t a woman like me” and “Who put her in my head?”, the duo underlines their defiant attitude towards stereotypes and questions the standards women are expected to live up to.
Raw, electrifying and powerful, the lead vocals, guitars and drums in ‘POW’ are a one-take and were recorded in their rehearsal room, reflecting the band’s approach of creating their own image, taking charge of their own sound and breaking free from fixed ideals though self-expression.
